Funds and Tax Credits for Film, Video and TV

Film, Video and TVFor the past eight years, Hal Richman has assisted online training, video game and VR companies in Nova Scotia apply for the Digital Media Tax Credit, with over $4.5M claims filed to date.

Hal is now extending his work to assist companies in Nova Scotia apply for the Film or Video Production Services Tax Credit (“PSTC”) from CAVCO and the Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund (“The Fund”). Look at his profile on Screen Nova Scotia.

Expected outcomes of the services include:

  • All requirements in the guidelines are verified against the client’s production information.
  • Applications are submitted on behalf o the client for:
    • CAVCO for Part A and Part B
    • Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund for the initial application and final documents
  • Documentation is submitted to the auditor (as needed) and questions from the auditor are promptly addressed.

Hal Richman does not provide any assurance services, nor does he submit T2 corporate tax forms.

It is expected that clients have good understanding of the guidelines and requirements, as well as the records, to support the applications. It is also expected that accounting systems are in place to support the budgetary reporting.
